The South Carolina Supreme Court will provide Rule 403, SCACR, trial experience credit for qualified law students who attend the three arguments on March 21, 2006. Students who attend all three arguments may claim credit for one civil jury trial under Rule 403(c)(1) and one criminal jury trial under Rule 403(c)(2). However, students who claim credit for observing the hearing in United States v. Shortt on February 8, 2006, will only be permitted to claim one civil jury trial credit for the hearings before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

To receive Rule 403 credit, you must sign the rosters which will be posted outside the auditorium immediately after the hearings on March 21, 2006. If you intend to claim credit for both a civil and criminal jury trial, you must sign the Civil Jury Trial and Criminal Jury Trial rosters. If you intend to claim credit for only a civil or criminal jury trial, you must sign the appropriate roster.

If you attend the oral arguments, please dress appropriately and arrive on time.
