Julian J. Nexsen will be honored with the DuRant Distinguished Public Service Award at the SC Bar Convention in honor of his service to the legal profession and community.
1979
Merl F. Code has been elected to the Palmetto Institute's Board of Directors and will serve a two-year term.
Marty Mack will serve as Deputy Secretary for Intergovernmental Affairs in the administration of New York Governor Spitzer. He served the last eight years as a public servant in a variety of capacities - Assistant District Attorney of Cortland County, Cortland County Attorney, Mayor of the City of Cortland, and Executive Chair of the New York State Democratic Party.

Harry M. Lightsey, III has been named senior vice president of legislative and external affairs in AT&T's southern region.
1987
Terrye M. Conroy was honored as the SCLA Outstanding New Professional for 2006 at the annual meeting of the South Carolina Library Association in December.
1994
Brian Amero was elected Superior Court Judge in Henry County, Georgia and took office on January 2, 2007.
1995
James E. Smith, Jr. will deploy for Afghanistan in February for a 15- to 18-month mission as part of the largest deployment of the SC National Guard since World War II.
1999
William R. Thomas has been elected to the Executive Committee of the Richland County Bar Association. He will begin serving this month.
