1963
C. Joseph Roof has been appointed by the Center for International Legal Studies to teach a course in American business law at Szkola Wyzsza Warszawska, a law school in Warsaw, Poland. After attending orientation in Salzburg, Austria, he will travel to Warsaw. The program runs from February 25 through March 16, 2007. Roof is a transactional attorney in the Columbia office of Sherrill Roof Millender.
1967
Judge William W. Wilkins was honored on the anniversary date of his 25 years on the federal bench by the Greenville County Bar Association for his many years of public service.
1970
J. Munford Scott, Jr. has been appointed to the First Reliance Bank Board of Directors in Florence.
1975
R. Glen Ayers is a shareholder in the San Antonio, Texas office of Langley & Banack, Inc., a firm that now employs 42 attorneys. His Bankruptcy Desk Book will be published by the Texas State Bar this year.
1976
J. Howard Daniel has been elected Chairman of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce.
Daniel B. White concluded his term as President of the SC Bar for 2005-2006. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America for his accomplishments in commercial litigation, railroad law, products liability, and personal injury law.
Edgar L. Dyer, III has been appointed executive vice president of Coastal Carolina University's board of trustees, effective July 1. He will provide leadership for the areas of strategic planning, capital projects and government relations.
1979
Karen Gould has been elected president of the Virginia Bar. She is a partner in the Richmond, VA office of McSweeney Crump Childress & Gould. Her practice concentrates in the areas of professional liability defense, workers' compensation defense, and employment law, as well as representing health care professionals before the health regulatory boards.
Brigadier General James C. Walker serves as Staff Judge Advocate to the Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps.
1980
W. Curtis Elliott, Jr. serves as Chair of the Appointment to the U.S. Tax Court Committee of the ABA Section of Taxation.
1981
Rob Fulton was elected last fall to the office of Associate Circuit Judge of Madison County, Missouri and was sworn into office effective January 1, 2007.
1982
Scott Fulton is Judge of the Environmental Appeals Board of the US EPA.
Joseph T. Merli is an associate in the Charleston office of Finkel Law Firm practicing foreclosure.
1985
Kent Fulton is Judge of the Oklahoma Workers' Compensation Court.
1998
Jared D. Mobley has been named a partner in the Charlotte office of Kennedy Covington. He is a member of the Business Law Department and focuses his practice on federal, state, and local taxation, including creating and implementing tax-efficient structures.
David M. Wilkerson has joined the Asheville, NC office of the Van Winkle Law Firm. He is the newest member of the litigation team, bringing eight years of commercial litigation experience to the group.

Regan M. Ankney has been named a member in the Charleston office of McAngus Goudelock & Courie.
Ryan A. Earhart has been named a partner in the Charleston office of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough.
Rene J. LeBlanc-Allman has been named a partner in the Charlotte office of Kennedy Covington. She is a member of the Financial Services Department and focuses her practice on representing financial institutions in structuring, negotiating and documenting secured and unsecured domestic and international lending transactions.
Jeffrey A. Lehrer has been named a partner in the Spartanburg office of Ford & Harrison. He focuses his practice on all areas of labor and employment law.
Leslie S. Riley has joined the Charleston office of McNair Law Firm as special counsel practicing environmental and administrative law.
Mark V. Thigpen has been named a partner in the Charlotte office of Kennedy Covington. He is a member of the Real Estate Department and focuses his practice on the representation of commercial real estate developers in acquisitions, leasing and finance matters for office, retail, and mixed-use projects.
2002
Jim and Courtney Buxton are proud to announce the birth of their first child, James Taylor Hughey “Hugh” Buxton, Jr. on December 29, 2006 in Richmond, Virginia.
2004
Ronald "Ron" F. Thomas has been named deputy assistant secretary of policy for the U.S. Veterans Administration by President Bush. The position oversees the policy operation for the Veterans Administration, the second-largest Cabinet agency with 230,000 employees and a $70 billion annual budget.
2005
Renner Jo Eberlein is an associate in the Fairbanks, Alaska office of Borgeson & Burns. Her practice focuses on labor and employment law, civil litigation and contract disputes.
Emily R. Gifford is the law school alumni representative for the Carolina Alumni Association's Council of Alumni Societies and has been elected to serve on the association's Board of Governors.
