G. Waring Parker announces the formation of G. Waring Parker Law Firm, LLC located at 905 N. Main St., Ste. 200, Summerville 29483

1985

Gov. Mark Sanford has appointed Sharon C. Bramlett as Chairman, Council of Advisors on Consumer Credit for the agency. Bramlett, an attorney with McNair Law Firm, PA, has been a member of the Council since 2001, serving under two Governors.

1988

Greenville attorney Tim Madden has graduated in the Class of 2007 Liberty Fellows, a two-year leadership program designed to empower the future leaders of South Carolina.

1992

Scarlet A. Wilson has been appointed prosecutor for South Carolina's ninth judicial circuit in Charleston.

1995

Bob Masella won the singles and doubles competition in an International Tennis Federation wheelchair championship in Hilton Head.

1997

Kimberly Keable has become an associate of the Casterline & Vallini, LLP firm's Greenville office located at 800 E. Washington St., Ste. K, 29601.

1999

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control announces that Elizabeth Applegate Dieck has joined the Office of General Counsel as Chief Counsel for Ocean and Coastal Resource Management located at 1362 McMillan Ave., Ste. 400, Charleston 29405.

Mark Thigpen is a partner in the new Charlotte, NC office of King & Spalding. Thigpen represents regional, super-regional and national real estate developers and equity investors in acquisition, financing, disposition, leasing, joint venture agreements, mixed-use development and equity placement.

2000

J. Christopher Clark has joined Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP as special counsel in the Myrtle Beach office. His practice is focused in the area of commercial and civil litigation. He represents clients in construction defect and owner/contractor disputes, products liability, business torts, consumer protection, insurance defense and manufacturer liability.

Ashley Anne McMahan, employed by the SC Attorney General's office in the post-conviction relief and criminal appeals section, was tapped as one of the SC Women Lawyers' Association's "Young Lawyer to Watch."

E. Benton Leinster III has joined the Hartman Law Firm located at 1314 E. Washington St., Greenville 29607.

James G. Biel Harvey became managing attorney for Casterline & Vallini, LLP at the firm's Lake Carolina office located at 300 Long Pointe Ln., Columbia 29229.

Christine Lanier Sellers published her first major article through American Association of Law Libraries: "Are You Podcasting?"

Wesley P. Bryant has been hired as the staff attorney for Georgetown County South Carolina.

The Honorable Mary Buchan Graham, 54, died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at her Marion home after an extended illness.

1973

The Honorable Walter Boyd Brown, Jr., died at his Winnsboro home on Friday, July 6, 2007.

1958

John Sartor "Jack" Flynn of Union, SC died Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Mary Black Hospital after an extended illness.
