Nicholas Trott (1663-1740)

Attorney General of Bermuda; Attorney General and Naval Officer in South Carolina; Proprietorís Deputy on Council; Secretary and Register of the Province; Elected member of the Lower House of Assembly; Judge of Vice Admiralty; Became Chief Justice of South Carolina in 1703; Began codification of South Carolina law shortly after he became chief justice, which became the first book printed in South Carolina in 1736.

Born on January 19, 1663, in London, England.

Education: Merchant Taylors School in London and admitted to Inner Temple in 1695.
