Southeastern Conference Law Schools Institutional Advancement

The University of South Carolina School of Law served as the host of the 2008 Southeastern Law Schools Institutional Advancement Conference, July 16-18, 2008. Approximately 100 people attended the conference, which was heralded as a success by many who attended the informative and exciting event.

Speakers from several Southeastern law schools presented on three tracks, development, alumni and communications, with sessions held over two days. Topics included: Major Gifts: Getting to a Successful Ask, Relationship Philanthropy: Donor-Focused Fundraising, Creating Ways to Measure Alumni Involvement, Building an Alumni Continuum: Engaging Younger and Older Alumni, Media Plan Development: What and to Whom Do You Communicate, and Trends in Local and National Media: What’s Hot in Higher Education.

The goal of the 2008 event was to provide information on emerging trends and share best practices specific to development, communications, marketing and event management, as well as alumni relations in the law school environment.
