Profile
David Lehmann received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1978. Following law school, he was co-director of a poverty law center for low income and indigent individuals for 5 years. Subsequently, he worked in private practice where he focused his practice on business, litigation, and appellate advocacy. He left private practice to become Director of Legal Compliance for a national insurance corporation in 1994.
In May 2005, he received a Masters of Information and Library Science degree from the University of Arizona. While attaining his Master Degree, he was awarded a Law Fellowship at the James E. Rogers School of Law in September 2004. He worked at the University of Arizona law library until November 2005. He joined the University of South Carolina Law Library Faculty in December 2005.
He teaches Advanced Legal Research and Legal Research and is also the Electronic Resources and Reference Librarian at the University of South Carolina Coleman Karesh Law Library. His scholarly interests include intellectual property issues (copyright focused), computer technology use in teaching and the library, legal research/writing, and appellate advocacy issues.
