Mr. Luthy teaches Legal Writing I and II to first-year law students. Prior to joining the South Carolina Law School faculty, Mr. Luthy practiced with the Salt Lake City firm Suitter Axland, primarily in insurance defense litigation, real estate title litigation, and appellate practice.

Immediately following law school, Mr. Luthy clerked for two years for Judge Gregory K. Orme of the Utah Court of Appeals. He clerked thereafter for Justice Richard C. Howe of the Utah Supreme Court and Judge Russell W. Bench of the Utah Court of Appeals.

Mr. Luthy received his J.D. degree from Brigham Young University's J. Reuben Clark Law School in 2000. He received his B.A. in Political Science from Utah State University in 1996.
