Joel Samuels selected as a member for Rotary International Group Study Exchange to India

Professor Joel Samuels has been selected as a member of the Rotary International Group Study Exchange (GSE) team representing District 7770 (covering the region of South Carolina from Columbia to the coast) in a month-long trip to Chandigarh, India. Among other activities, Samuels, who has written extensively on mechanisms for resolving international boundary disputes, will have an opportunity to discuss how his academic work might be applied in the complex dispute between India and Pakistan over Kashmir. Chandigarh, the capital of two Indian states (Punjab and Haryana) is the largest city on the route from India's capital to the Kashmir region. Professor Samuels will be one of six South Carolinians who will spend a month visiting with colleagues in their fields of expertise as well as speaking to local Rotary clubs and other professional groups. Upon his return to South Carolina, Professor Samuels will tour the state to share reflections from the trip.
