First Floor

You will find, on the first floor, the core collection of American primary legal material:

  • South Carolina statutes, annotated code and cases
  • United States Code and Statutes at Large
  • State Annotated Codes (other than South Carolina)
  • Code of Federal Regulations (current year)
  • Federal Register
  • West's National Reporter System
  • Congressional Record (unbound)
  • U.S. Supreme Court decisions
  • American Law Reports (ALR)
  • Microforms

The first floor also houses:

  • Periodicals Collection
  • Legal Encyclopedias
  • Shepard's Citators
  • Indexes
  • Digests
  • General Reference Material

With the exception of treatises, which are located on the second floor and are classified, most of the resources you will need to do basic research in American law will be found on the first floor. This includes the Circulations and Reference Desks, USCAN terminals, microform readers, and photocopiers.

Second Floor

Call numbers A-KF 2993 are shelved on the second floor.

Third Floor

Call numbers KF 2994-Z are shelved on the third floor.

Fourth Floor

On the fourth floor you will find:
