William Eldridge Jenkinson, Jr. was a good man devoted to family, profession, state and nation. Born in Kingstree May 27, 1912, son of William Jenkinson and Louisa Caroline Haynsworth Jenkinson; Citadel graduate; football team letterman; devoted alumnus. Graduate of Georgetown University School of Law; admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1940. Served in the United States Army (1941-1945) attaining rank of captain. Began practicing law in Kingstree in 1945, and married Gordon Brockington. Father of four children.
President of Williamsburg County Bar Association 1982-1991; Founder of Jenkinson & Jenkinson, where two lawyer sons joined him. Twice elected Mayor of Kingstree; member and official of his church; active in Scouting, received its Silver Beaver Award. Died January 19, 1991. We gratefully remember him and his acts of kindness and love.
