J. Woodrow Lewis Competition:

Professor Robert T. Bockman

Bob Bockman has been an Adjunct Professor of Law on the faculty of the University of South Carolina School of Law since 1992, teaching appellate advocacy and advising various moot court competition teams, including the Law School's team in the National Moot Court Competition since 1994. Professor Bockman now serves full time as the faculty advisor for the USC Moot Court, the USC Mock Trial team, and the USC Advocacy Program.

As a shareholder in McNair Law Firm, P.A., Professor Bockman specializes in administrative and regulatory litigation and in state and appellate practice. He has lectured frequently at the Law School and in Continuing Legal Education seminars on topics related to those areas of practice.

Professor Bockman is a graduate of Vanderbilt University (B.A., 1968) and earned an M.A. and J.D. from the University of Georgia in 1972 and 1975, respectively. He is admitted to practice in the States of South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia, and before various federal courts.

The Moot Court Bar is tremendously grateful for Professor Bockman's contributions to the Moot Court program. To demonstrate this gratitude the Moot Court Bar of 1999-2000 created the Robert T. Bockman award to be given each year to a person possessing qualities that exemplify moot court. Professor Bockman was the first recipient.
