Student Bar AssociationCommittee DescriptionsSBA Representatives serve on a number of faculty committees where they work closely with the faculty and administration of the School of Law to represent their student constituency on matters vital to the well-being of the school. Academic Responsibility Committee: SBA Representatives on this committee help the committee determine how to more effectively implement and execute programs to advance the school's academic development.
Adjunct Faculty Committee: The adjunct faculty play a unique role in providing both practical and theoretical perspective in the classroom. Because of the specialized role these faculty play in students' education, the SBA Representatives on this committee address the current specific needs of the student body in relation to the hiring of these adjunct professors.
Admissions Committee: SBA Representatives on this committee work hand-in-hand with the admissions office and ambassadors program to help set standards for admission of the incoming class, thereby shaping the future composition of the student body of the School of Law.
Curriculum Committee: SBA Representatives aid in addressing curricular reform, content, and structure in order to provide a legal education consistent with the needs of the current law student.
Executive Committee: Traditionally the SBA President and Vice President serve on this committee where they advise regarding the most pressing issues currently affecting the student body.
IT Committee: SBA Representatives on this committee advocate to ensure the student body has available the most cutting edge technology as is feasible.
Library Committee: Advising the committee on issues regarding student needs in relation to library facilities, the SBA Representatives on this committee also represent the student body's preferences regarding interests in modern scholarly materials.
Career Services Committee: SBA Representatives on this committee bring forth the needs of the student body regarding career development, interviewing skills, self-marketing, and networking opportunities.
The Student Bar Association also maintains a few permanent student-composed committees within SBA, along with a number of ad hoc committees on an as-needed basis. The permanent committees include:
