What firm/organization are you working with now?
S. C. Judicial Department

What kind of pro bono or volunteer work have you been involved in?
Law Related Education programs

What are the main reasons why you would recommend that law students become involved in pro bono work?
Great experience to supplement the academic education.

How would you encourage current law students to get involved with the Pro Bono program?
Get active with the organization through attendance at meetings if that framework still exists. Also be open to volunteer opportunities in areas of personal interest or special knowledge.

Has pro bono work contributed to your sense of career satisfaction?

Did your experiences in the Pro Bono program at USC prepare you or benefit you in your career?

In your career, have you seen an overlap between your volunteer work and your sense of your own place in the community and the legal profession?
Yes, but I brought that to the legal profession rather than developed it after my legal involvement.

How do pro bono efforts fit in to the work of the South Carolina Bar?
It is essential given the responsibility and expectations placed on the bar.

What kind of perceptions, positive or negative, do you think that the bar as a whole has about attorneys who are actively involved in pro bono work?
I believe a positive perception. Some have more time and flexibility than others to be actively involved in pro bono work.

What is most memorable/best experience you had during your law school career through the Pro Bono program?
It is too long ago to remember specifics but I do recall that I have a very positive memory of my collective efforts and involvement with the program and individuals.

What does the 20th Anniversary of the Pro Bono program mean to you?
That it is great that the program still exists and is just as relevant to today's students.

What is your most cherished memory with Pam?
How passionate and genuinely interested she is in helping others and encouraging students to give their time.
