Hunger is Not a Crock (Pot)

| |

UPDATE (November 1, 2011)

Raising over $545 for the BackPack Program at Harvest Hope Food Bank the "Hunger is NOT a Crock(Pot)" declared a huge success! 20 law student chefs made and served soup to hungry classmates all in the name of a good cause. The variety of soup was simply amazing-from the favorite butternut squash to chicken noodle. Judges Bill Nettles and Rob Wilcox valiantly tasted every soup and declared three winners. Check out the results and more photos on the Best Class Food Drive Facebook page.

Judges

The lobby of the law school will be filled with the enticing smells of soup on Oct 31st from 12-1:30 and for just $5 you can enjoy tasting as many entries as you want - all to help a good cause - the BackPack Program at Harvest Hope Food Bank. The BackPack Program sends children home with enough child-friendly, nutritious, easy-to-open food to last them over the weekend.

“Hunger is Not a Crock (Pot)” is just one element of the Law School “Best Class Food Drive” a semi-annual effort to educate and address the issue of food insecurity in SC.

What would a soup tasting be without awards and what would awards be without judges? The judges tasked with determining who is the culinary genius at the Law School will be Bill Nettles, US Attorney for the District of SC, and Dean Rob Wilcox. The judges will be selecting the best soups for three categories but there will also be a People’s Choice Award with all attendees allowed one vote.
